I agree with Gabe. Among the many Macs I have running Mac OS X
10.4.10 (the last update before leopard) there is a iMac G3 700 MHz,
circa 2001, with 384 MB of RAM. I can have it running Firefox,
Acrobat Pro, Word, Apple's Mail app, Skype (a known memory and
resource hog), and play iTunes through the network with no problem.
Try to run winders vista on a Pentium III with 384 MB: I doubt it'll
go past the bios chime...

Yep, that's all it takes. Actually, I've done it a couple of time on
MacBooks and it's probably one of the easiest memory instals I've
come across so far...
