Re: [PLUG] Virtualization Presentation

I just upgraded the redqueen to 5GB of memory in order to do virtualization. Wanted 8 GB but $$$ prohibited. Mobo manufacturer recommended registered ECC memory is still kind of expensive even for KVR.

By the way thanks to James B for his talk and sorry for the delay. Been getting pounded at work. Doing a lot of the installation schlep work right now with this new video deal. Had to pull a half mile of RG6 cable through an old building, minimum demo to said building. Because the server is using HD component that means 3 home run lines per display; not to mention the network CAT5, vga signal cable, and RF cable lines required.

Plan to start using CAT5E baluns to component video in the future, which cuts down the the amount of wire by 1/3. You take a slight quality hit, but it's not very noticeable unless you are doing side by side apple to apple comparisions. Eventually we will be doing all this over ip.

Who saids Linux can't do video :-).

I'm learning to hate TV really fast.
