Turns out ... you just copy the whole Maildir structure onto the new hard drive, under your home folder. And that's it, really. :-) I was able to access it all using Thunderbird by just point TB at my Ubuntu server, telling it I was using IMAP, and what the password was. And voila! there was my 6-7 years worth of email, all ready for me to reminisce over. :-) So that part all Just Worked. Now to work on making the Samba 3.0.28 on it become a member server in my Win2003 AD domain, and let it share out stuff .... You have to install and configure Kerberos, apparently. I found some webpages detailing it, and I'll see about trying that over the weekend, perhaps. Thanks for the imapsync tip, tho. I'll have to see how much disk space that would take up. Almost certainly not enough to impact my limit at Google Apps. -- Michael J.
