The only issue there is that I didn't see my Comcast bill go down a penny when they shut off that service. And now I need to pay another $9.99/ month for usenet. I agree with you in concept though. It would be nice to regard your connectivity as carrier only service with reduced bindings. Comcast is always working on retention though. They'll give up providing usenet, but are going to provide file storage for subscribers to use for backups.
