I've got one. Today they just released the amazon video service. Basically there are two services on it, the Netflix Service and the Amazon Video on Demand Service. I haven't tried amazon just yet, however. IMHO while there are a few good movies on both services, its kind of like having cinemax on your cable box. Some movies you want to watch because you're bored, but not anything you REALLY want to see right now. Its nice though and works perfectly. The display resolution can get grainy on a slow connection but I love the fact that I can get commercial free movies for 8.99 a month whenever I want them on my TV. I would get a *gulp* xbox 360 if you're thinking of the Roku player, however. The native HD format plus the additional movie rental services make it a winner in my book. I have both and use the 360 way more than the Roku. HTH Jim On Tue, Mar 3, 2009 at 5:27 PM, Kam <kam@kamsalisbury.com> wrote: Is anyone on the list planning on getting a Roku? The PR makes it sound like a Netflix killer for folks with broadband. ___________________________________________________________________________ Philadelphia Linux Users Group -- http://www.phillylinux.org Announcements - http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug-announce General Discussion -- http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug
