I second the use of duplicity,  I'm doing several backups with it, mostly
locally,  but may try the cloud as well.   duplicity has support for
just about
any backend:  ftp, rsync, imap,  or s3.

I've got wrapper scripts for duplicity that does the logging and pruning and
email notification.  It's pretty rough ,  but updates to the script will
be gladly accepted.
