Big synergy fan here. I use at work (so I can pull out my laptop if I need to, and seamlessly use my desktop's mouse and keyboard) and also at home, so that I don't have to plug in big monitors or USB cables on my laptop when I set it on my desk.

Michael, I don't quite understand what you're trying to do, but it might not be in the feature set of synergy. Basically, synergy would allow you to use keyboards and mice from any computer and share them across the network. That way, you can mouse seamlessly onto other screens, which are (this is important) hooked up to other computers. It doesn't allow window sharing or anything like that, but in effect, it's nearly as good!

Make sure to read carefully the documentation on how to create conf files, because that's usually the problem with initial setup.
