I've used browsershots.org once. It was mostly to verify that things were working since it's slow when you use the free version. Unfortunately they don't support IE9.

Scanning for alternatives I found this: http://netrenderer.com/ It was really quick when I just tested it for IE9. Not sure if/how they limit access.

Obviously these services need to be able to access your pages. And you only get an image back (so you can't click around to try out whatever fancy _javascript_ drag-and-drop features you might be writing)

Other general tips - check that your document passes validation, this can fix browser quirks. http://validator.w3.org/

-IE8 under Wine crashes on launch.
-For some reason, I can't get the mid-April-made timelocked IE8 VHD to work in either VirtualBoxOSE or the regular VirtualBox 4.1.4. The virtual machine gives a brief BSOD during boot, then reboots with the option of launching Startup Repair.

Is it possible that, for reliable IE8 to 9 render/JS testing, I need to suck it up and shell out for a Win7 install disk, then install it in a nice, safe VirtualBox VM?
