Does iOS actually multitask?  I know that it only supported that for
certain applications in the past.  Does it now let you run an
arbitrary number of ordinary applications at once?  If not, how do
they handle figuring out which ones to leave running?

I'll be the first to say that the Android design is clever.  I'm just
not convinced that it works - and it seems to trust too much to
well-behaved apps.  Maybe Apple's success comes from the fact that if
they don't like how the latest Facebook update works they can just
tell Facebook they can't distribute it.
