I'm interested to read more about this. I'll admit I'm not 100% familiar with UEFI and whatnot, but it seems strange to me that cpu voltage adjustments would be suddenly either available, or dependent on the OS. I'm also for certain not familiar with /proc/sys/dev/mb/cpu/vcore.

Can anyone provide additional info? My googlefu only uncovered obvious fud.

Equally anecdotally, I've got friends that have linux on retina pro's that didn't explode, kill people, or drink all of their beer.

You run a very high risk of blowing the processor because they are special low voltage processors. I installed the rEFIt EFI boot software and was able to run the live cd. I'd prefer to install Debian but it doesn't even recognize the touchpad from the drivers included in the netinstall disk and I'm wondering if it's worth the headache.
