Re: [PLUG] Linux Foundation Courses

Yeah it's one of the few that actually means anything to it people because the test is you doing actual work not just answering questions.

Ya some of those courses are pretty expensive. This one included the test with it and a free re-do if you bomb the first one. That rhcsa is one of the best isn't it?

Well this will save you the money since just taking the test would be cheaper lol. I am actually hoping my company can send me for the rhcsa cert training soon because that training is around $6000 so if they can do that for me I would have no complaints paying the 400 for the actual test.

Good call on the Andrew Mallet channel. He has everything the course has and more minus the certification.

Andrew Mallet does some good lessons if you're trying to learn to actually get a job.

All pretty good advice. Got busy at work no time to reply. Btw if anyone ever thought working on concrete looks like fun, it's not. Did anyone get a chance to look at the Cert's outline? It seems to cover all the basics and I was hoping aside from actual experience out in the field that what I learned in the cert would have me confident enough to actually go to work and not be a nervous wreck. Even though the information on all the subjects is available on the net, for me to learn I need a more structured approach, not
"I want to learn bash"
reads comments "Bash sucks learn perl"
"I have to learn perl"
reads comments "Perl sucks learn C"
"I have to learn C"
etc, etc, etc

One way is to start working cheap, for some place too small to have an
HR dept. Or perhaps on a freelance basis for several such places.
