Re: [PLUG] printing


The things that bother me about printers, especially in Windows, is the driver. I search for the driver only download as much as possible since I don't really need 20 pieces of software just to print the occasional word doc.

My linux boxes handle printing pretty well.  I agree, though, having one device per desired function is preferable for me.

Just my rant.

Yup.  I have a printer I mostly like, and a scanner I mostly like.  I
can't imagine that I'd like any of the things that combine them.

Right now I'm using a Magicolor 1650EN, which supports postscript and
is networked.  It would probably take 3 minutes to get it up and
running on a VAX or Windows 3.11.
