Thanks. Startup time seems an odd thing to concentrate their
development time on. I don't restart Firefox all that often for it to
be an issue. I usually start Firefox, Slack, and Discord shortly after
I reboot. Firefox starts so fast compared to the other two that I
never even noticed that it might be an issue!

I don't have any strong opinions about snap vs flatpack. Mostly I want
to understand how they work as a user.

That said, it appears what I posted earlier in this thread about the
firefox snap was incorrect. The latest/stable channel of firefox was updated
on May 31, and was installed under my ~/snapd on June 1. Now `snap changes`
says there are no updates:

20220605-16:57:29 waltman@scruffy:/snap% snap changes   
no changes found

But `snap info firefox` says that the latest/edge channel was updated
today!
