On my linux box, time is an internal part of inetd -- once I enable time in /etc/inetd.conf, I can rdate to localhost. Is there something preventing you from tetting to the time port [37] on the other box? like a firewall blocking the port? ip masquaerading? tcpd restricting access via hosts.allow/deny? some other restriction issue? k ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I put up my thumb... and it blotted out the planet Earth. -- Neil Armstrong mortis@voicenet.com http://www.voicenet.com/~mortis ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ On Tue, 19 Oct 1999 tburba@GLCORPIS01.usvision.com wrote: > > > > > Running timed on the "master" machine didn't help.
