I was merely pointing out the differences between NDS/MAD and LDAP. Don't forget, NDS (at least) has been around for 7 years, and has a large development staff. So it's no wonder that it'll do a lot of stuff. :-) It's a mature product. No reason why you have to emulate ALL the features of some one else's directory service. The idea you had was great, and eminently useful.
