May I suggest that since you really only need the CD when you're installing that you just open up the case, borrow an IDE CD ROM from another computer, plug the CD ROM and IDE into your open case (you may want to use some anti-static bags if you have them to create a rest for your loose CD Drive). Install. When you are done, remove the CD Drive and ribbon cable. Close your case. Done, cost $0.


If you do want to spend money I suggest either replacing your case (as I think someone else did) or buying another computer, youc an buy a used PII on EBay for about $100 plus shipping. A two unit Monitor switch should run about $30 at a show.
