I don't speak for anyone else as to the evils of pppoe, but my
experience was this. It dropped connections. Monitoring the activity of
the line and then sending a kill signal. That sucked. It is also at best
a kludge of technology. Use existing technology that doesn't throw up so
many roadblocks for non-standard users.
