I know that I could use something more intense for more speed. I used to run AfterStep for that purpose. For now, I'd like to get the most speed I can out of this machine no matter what WM I'm using. I guess my question was, doing a price/performance analysis, is spending $160 to get 128 MB worth doing over spending $80 to get 96 MB. I mentioned the enviornment and apps that I use because some situations derive more benefit from increased memory than others. (For example, I have a 486-DX2-66 VLB, 40 MB ram, that burns up Word 97 and Quickbooks, but wouldn't dare play an MP3. I wnted to answer the "what are you using this for?" question before it was asked.) -- _______________________________ Art Alexion Arthur S.
