Oh, and no... The SCSI emulation mode is only needed for writing to CDR
and DVD R/RW as far as I know, not for mounting these disks for reading
alone.   Unless you are loading ide-scsi already?  Your log should
indicate if it loaded and mapped one of the drives (and lsmod will
indicate of ide-scsi is loaded.)
