No wireless support possible, WI-Fi upgradeable, or Intel PRO/Wireless Network Connection 802.11b. I would hazard a guess that this is the Intel centrino mobo. If you click customize on any othe choices with the upgradeable option, and then click the "wireless link" above the "Wi-Fi wireless upgradable" info, you get a popup box with the following information:- ~ Definition Wireless technologies allow computers to communicate with other enabled computers, servers or devices without cables or wires. Antenna design: ~ * The new IBM® UltraConnect" Antenna supports both IEEE 802.11a and 802.11b wireless technologies. ~ * Other select ThinkPad notebooks feature a dual antenna, which supports 802.11b wireless technology, built into the display cover for optimal signal reception1. Choice of wireless: ~ * Wi-Fi wireless/Intel Wi-Fi wireless: Provides security comparable to a typical wired local area network (LAN) communication with technology based on IEEE 802.11b2 with 128-bit Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) ~ (select models). ~ * Wi-Fi wireless upgradable3: Add wireless technology in the future and use the system's dual antenna for optimal signal reception (select models). ~ * Cisco® 802.11b wireless: Easily integrate and use the advanced security features of an existing Cisco network with integrated Cisco Wireless 802.11b (select models). ~ * IBM 11a/b Wi-Fi wireless: Provides flexibility so you can connect in either Wi-Fi environment to help increase mobility and productivity. Supports both IEEE 802.11a and 802.11b wireless technologies (select models)4. ~ * Bluetooth: Get short range (up to 30') or device-to-device wireless connectivity. ~ Communicate with other Bluetooth-enabled devices such as printers, cell phones or PDAs (select models). 1 Requires compatible wireless-enabled options; sold separately. 2 Based on IEEE 802.11b. This wireless LAN product has been designed to permit legal operation world-wide in regions in which it is approved. Operation on channels 12-14 are not permitted in all regulatory regions of the world. Consequently the wireless LAN feature is limited to operate on channels 1-11 and will not support channels 12, 13, and 14. This product has been tested and certified to be interoperable by the Wireless Ethernet Compatibility Alliance and is authorized to carry the Wi-Fi logo. 3 Can be wireless enabled with the addition of an optional wireless LAN Mini PCI Card. These systems are designed to operate only with wireless LAN Mini PCI options sold by IBM. 4 Based on IEEE 802.11a and 802.11b.
