Have to read more on hal to figure out what to do that might fix it. As for the "damned KDE thing", I upgraded to KDE 3.5.1 which gives me the option of turning it off in KDE services. In 3.4.3, I had to comment out stuff in /etc/ivman/IvmConfigActions.xml. That solved the popping up of konqueror every time I inserted a disc, but may also be the cause of the problem. I think I'll try uncommenting the stuff and then disabling the service in kcontrol. -- _______________________________________ Art Alexion Arthur S.
