idea #1: try adding noapic to the kernel line.

well if it can get to the kernel, it should at least give you the
loading/uncompressing kernel image line.  something else that might
be worth trying is 

idea #3: check the version of your motherboard firmware/bios and seeing
if there's some kind of update available.
