Gutsy includes two different drivers for intel video hardware, in the packages xserver-xorg-video-intel and xserver-xorg-video-i810. The "i810" driver is the old and reliable (but feature-limited) driver. The "intel" driver is newer and more featureful (but you know what that means in terms of bugs). Also, can your monitor's on-screen display show the resolution that it is currently being driven at? Also, consider posting your Xorg log and config files. This problem rings a bell for me, but my google-fu seems weak right now :( -- Will Dyson ___________________________________________________________________________ Philadelphia Linux Users Group -- http://www.phillylinux.org Announcements - http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug-announce General Discussion -- http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug
