That's why I use ne. I didn't need to read _any_ manuals to get things done.
I've always hated the workflow of vi(m) and I got tried of the overwhelming
mass of EMACS. I'm usually in an X session, so I realised I didn't really
need a powerful console-only editor. For those situations where I don't use
X, or just want to quickly edit something, I just needed a quick, simple
editor that didn't require me to spend more time learning it than I would
spend using it.

I subscribe to the notion that the tools should help me get things done, not
be an impediment.
