Re: [PLUG] Domain Registrar recommendations - revisited

I've used DreamHost for a few years now, they've got very convenient domain management and hosting options (I run a virtual server through them). I migrated a GoDaddy domain to them a few months ago--the only difficulty was on the GoDaddy end, Dreamhost makes transfers very convenient.  If you don't want to use their hosting, the domain costs are quite competitive on their own.

They have a deal going on with gizmodo if you wanted to try hosting:

+2 - they're cheap, and their DNS is a lot more capable than most of
the other options and saves me from having to pay somebody else
$10/month for it.

I used to use DNSMadeEasy for Backup MX - I have nothing but good
things to say about them but their service is a little pricier and I
found somebody willing to provide free backup MX if you let them run
your mail through their spam analyzers (they don't filter it - they
just learn from it).  If that ever stops being free I'd probably go
back to them.
