I'd expect them to sell better than car batteries at a retail store that doesn't have installation service, and it seems like everybody stocks those. FYI - that alarm silence button just makes the beeping stop. It has nothing to do with burglar alarms. The alarm indicates that you need to change your battery, or that the box is running on battery. There should be another button for emergency use - the device will run on battery until it is fairly low and shut off. If you have landline service (or VoIP presumably) and need to make an emergency phone call you can push the button and get more time out of it. Of course, you'll need a POTS-powered phone or UPS-powered equipment to do that if you have a power outage (which is the most likely reason for the ONT to not have power). -- Rich ___________________________________________________________________________ Philadelphia Linux Users Group -- http://www.phillylinux.org Announcements - http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug-announce General Discussion -- http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug
