Re: [PLUG] PLUG West

+1 for a different day, ideally *Thursday* (to avoid North Tue,
Central Wed, and Monday holidays).  I've been unable to do
Mondays for over 2 years now, but didn't want to rock the
      boat.

+1 for West Chester, Malvern, Devon, Exton, Berwyn, Paoli, KoP, or
      any other western suburb

Yes, attendance may grow at a new location.  Get some new blood,
and hopefully not lose any of the existing die-hards.  BTW, I can
often be called on to drive someone to/from a train/bus station.
Or sometimes even pick them up at home, if not too far.

@Chris, remind your potential Devon host that PLUG is a great way
to attract knowledgeable Linux folks as new hires.  Didn't Unisys
hire a few?  And FIS?  Maybe ATS too?

I think a 4th venue is probably a stretch.  The existing 3 are
justified by distance.  Adding a nearby 4th might just stretch the
speakers even thinner.  But, if the numbers justify it, go for it!

Yes, rescheduling around a holiday instead of just cancelling, is
probably a good idea.  Especially on Mondays.

Weekends are harder for me, but yeah, that might bring in a
new and additional crowd.

UnPLUG is an interesting idea.  Especially if we meet at a more
social site, like a local restaurant or bar.  I suggest a fixed site
though.  Hitting a different place each month may be too
complex, and lose us some attendees.  Or maybe the variety will
add appeal.  Who knows?

Moving to a local restaurant might be easy.  They usually have a
back room that you can use for free if you buy a few appetizers
or drinks, and since we always go out for an after-party anyhow.
Back in 2006 and 2007, we met at the Drafting Room in Lionville
a couple times.  I carry a small projector in my backpack, so I
could pull that out on short notice at any meeting I attend.

Thanks to Chris, Andy and ATS for hosting all this time!  Beers are
on me, next time I see you!

For what it's worth, I've idly considered a weekend plug for some years. Something like a Saturday afternoon/evening meetup.

You could even make it more social and just call it "UnPLUG" or
something like that. You could even move the location around if it
were at a social venue. If that was your intent I'd say it is more
orthogonal to the West situation. But I think that is a good idea!
For something on a Saturday I know I really wouldn't care where it was
- it is easy enough to get around on the weekends.
