Mike has a very good point here. We're all on the same team, so why are we continually fighting distribution wars? (I won't even get into Perl vs. Python or Linux vs. *BSD.) To quote a line from Apple's 1984 commercial: "Our enemies' confusion will be our greatest weapon." Linux culture is about using what works and sharing your solutions. The last thing we need here is intellectual monoculture proclaiming Debian/apt/Perl as the One True Solution (tm). Z.
