Although when you're talking 20-odd years, it's far far far less likely...
and he has most definitely been under pressure since then.

Libertarians have now been on the ballot in 49 states (should be fifty,
except for some craziness in Arizona) for the last three elections.  The
last third party to do so was the Republican party back in the day.
