I highly recommend the Lucent/Orinoco WAVELan cards - either the silver or the gold, depending on your preference for security (silver is 56 bit, gold is 128 bit).



 same for the access points, any suggestions?

Apple Airport! They're cheap, easily configured from any platform and most importantly - they look cool :).
