Check your permissions on /dev/dsp* and /dev/audio* -- if they're something like 660 or 640, you'll need to do one of a couple different things. You can add yourself to the group that owns those devices (if they're 660; if not, you can change the mode to 660 and then add yourself to the group), or do what I did, and change the mode to 666. I ran into this a couple weeks ago after a Slackware installation. -- Bill Jonas * bill@billjonas.com * http://www.billjonas.com/ "As we enjoy great advantages from the inventions of others, we should be glad of an opportunity to serve others by any invention of ours; and this we should do freely and generously." -- Benjamin Franklin ______________________________________________________________________ Philadelphia Linux Users Group - http://www.phillylinux.org Announcements-http://lists.phillylinux.org/mail/listinfo/plug-announce General Discussion - http://lists.phillylinux.org/mail/listinfo/plug
