Keep in mind there aren't really any /dev/cdrom devices.  These are just
symlinks to the proper device file (in my case, hdc and scd0).  Your
distribution might automagically create, delete, and/or rearrange them
on boot, however.  (I know that RedHat runs kudzu at every boot, for
instance; I'm not sure what it does with removable optical disc devices,
though.)
