Re: [PLUG] Can't access part of Linux Share

The system does not start up with out errors
I no longer can run most commands in console mode
I get X errors indicating it is cycling to fast.

I am attempting to upgarde to RH 7.3 in hopes that the upgrade will stablize things.

Again the question, what are the recovery tools used to diag HD and OS's?

If you're used either ext2 or ext3, the proper tool to test a harddrive is e2fsck /dev/<drive id to linux> although the drive theoretically has to be unmounted to use e2fsck properly.

Figuring out what is causing your cycling message is tricky, you could have the wrong libraries installed, or have only portions of the necessary libraries installed as one example of what could cause your problem. IOW, you might want to try for example looking on google in the groups section for your error message to see what others have found as the cause/solution with your present flavor of Linux.
