I heard from one of my friends that the new office works well in wine,
havn't confirmed myself though.

I too have had a similar experience, both on the teaching and student
side. Please let us know if you have a work around, as this could
effect other students (and many in our department are linux/mac
users!).
Also, did you try changing your user agent to mac instead of windows?
