Yeah, that's very fair.  I'm definitely interested in TCO.  However, a
$225 workstation needs a pretty long break-even time compared to most
newer server hardware out there.  It is not easy to find a better deal
for 32+GB of RAM and 40 PCIe lanes (with bifurcation).

If there is a better option out there I'm definitely interested to
hear about it.  I'd also happily give up 4-8 lanes for an SFP+ port. I
don't think something like an N100 is going to be hosting U.2 NVMes.

When I don't care about PCIe lanes then I go with cheap SFF PCs, and
those are pretty power efficient (corporate sales are a big part of
their market and I'm sure the people who buy them care about power).
