They turn electricity into watts like a space heater, year round for me Yeah, that's very fair. I'm definitely interested in TCO. However, a $225 workstation needs a pretty long break-even time compared to most newer server hardware out there. It is not easy to find a better deal for 32+GB of RAM and 40 PCIe lanes (with bifurcation). If there is a better option out there I'm definitely interested to hear about it. I'd also happily give up 4-8 lanes for an SFP+ port. I don't think something like an N100 is going to be hosting U.2 NVMes. When I don't care about PCIe lanes then I go with cheap SFF PCs, and those are pretty power efficient (corporate sales are a big part of their market and I'm sure the people who buy them care about power). -- Rich ___________________________________________________________________________ Philadelphia Linux Users Group -- http://www.phillylinux.org Announcements - http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug-announce General Discussion -- http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug
