The most popular one is "ConnectBot" - was the first thing I installed
on my phone :)
As for Jeff not liking the cloud - this phone really is built around
syncing with your gmail account (you can't even use the phone until
you log into your gmail account!) so while there are ways to do pretty
much anything you want (use different calendar, email, etc), the Best
Experience will come from from integration with gmail stuff.
