While WordPress security has gotten *better*, it still suffers from quite frequent security issues. And it's not necessarily because of how ubiquitous it is. Drupal does not suffer from a fraction of the issues WP does, yet it's even used by the White House (along with countless other larger businesses, etc.)- WordPress simply isn't up to snuff. Remember, quality does not necessarily equal popularity- typically, shiny-clicky equals popularity (i.e. Mac OS X, which has had a horrible security track record). In fact, I've seen an astounding amount of WordPress compromises happen firsthand when I worked at a webhost. I mean to the tune of 3-4 serious breaches a day across our customerbase. If you *really* want to use WordPress, fine, have at it. But it's definitely not my personal first choice. Aside from that, designing a clean-feeling website is fairly easy using Twitter's opensource bootstrap.js: http://getbootstrap.com/ It has built-in responsiveness support, and creates a pretty slick-feeling website without needing to be a PHP/CSS/JS/etc. guru. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2 Comment: Using GnuPG with Thunderbird - http://www.enigmail.net/ iQIcBAEBCgAGBQJV5HGaAAoJEIwATC+TSB9rHlkQAIpewdj+HCUW7uHfvCMKQFgN HEju9bw8sBkz9akAG5Jz797QTEK8lHDx9qlnB8hip8FcXTL+12DfuCNw6cV7m9JC b7/eZDN0vXy5YNKOvbc9YvxfeZock5q2HvrcCz2nvKASRe2NCeBhrXU/yb3eCJdY QOHY9kzLeO5V+Ub3A0NARiD/p9agMrqOvbrvICrMQcHBfvj0Oi3KU6ZRpceEanHU qNLFLzi/30nIwzE8XXpcnCXNcq2ZAigSHdKomGgzfxGjH4dNVgbk3lzd1RriG6By 1wpaHdyLDx4yfmHLoxIfVUvlqYWEuyVhxK8DmQqNjQxML2sZqy5w16Qdu5pE7Rsw X7eRIKxTFI1slwFOiDlv4QqUKoFhtTzSd5nYK4GC0Lk7OvRBb1wAmACWNW9c+J6A bj8KY1brNQdTECHGWwjn3MLfqslJ4fdxaJI3XZo8Kp/glg2rMGnelZheszyKx4nq OtBayWPPhfidxDYSuyG3bUOLjBTtqcClQi/Zn7o3EoJKuWDrD2GSxiIz2sQQU25L rJnBCh0FWGdpTr18JBMbJnpqN+F3iLe5nRsZjxOMVoSyrD9PZT+w8vNzERDe7NIb qrc7nkoPW6ylNVHSDvePTWqWsxyOpXox3YelVr+ow6voIQdNxDm3NEMe++dherhs pkyWGsHHUpyHDYXXLWfl =1sM6 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- ___________________________________________________________________________ Philadelphia Linux Users Group -- http://www.phillylinux.org Announcements - http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug-announce General Discussion -- http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug
