The phone uses the Google account to store some of the phone's data, so it's required - note, this doesn't have to be an @gmail.com account, Google accounts can be made with any email address. This online storage for contacts and things is not unusual for smartphones, and somewhat predictable since Android is Google's child and Google is all about the cloud. It works perfectly fine for POP and IMAP (I use IMAP exclusively on mine), the gmail client on it is a bit nicer though. -- Elizabeth Krumbach // Lyz // pleia2 http://www.princessleia.com ___________________________________________________________________________ Philadelphia Linux Users Group -- http://www.phillylinux.org Announcements - http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug-announce General Discussion -- http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug
